Chevrolet Performance’s SP383 Turn-Key uses LS-inspired valvetrain technology to expand its rpm range, matching the stroker combination’s traditional torque with more high-rpm horsepower. Lightweight aluminum cylinder heads based on
the proven Fast Burn design are at the heart of the SP383’s performance capability. They feature beehive-style valve springs to enable great high-rpm performance and durability, allowing the SP383 to rev higher and build more horsepower.

Additionally, the engine features a forged steel stroker crankshaft, an aggressive hydraulic roller camshaft and a high-flow aluminum single-plane intake manifold — and as a Chevrolet Performance Turn-Key Engine, it comes with the intake manifold and distributor installed. It also includes the carburetor, front-end accessory kit, crankshaft balancer, chrome air cleaner, starter, water pump and spark plug wires (some installation required).

INSTALLATION NOTES

  • Requires an externally balanced flexplate for automatic transmission or an externally balanced flywheel for manual transmission.
  • Requires fuel line from fuel pump to carburetor
  • Some assembly and minor engine tuning required
